The KI.FABRIK Research and Development (R&D) project focuses on the establishment of the first production chains and the research of fundamental relevant technologies to address four use cases under the roof of the KI.FABRIK. The four-year KI.FABRIK R&D project is part of the first phase of the lighthouse initiative, alongside the project KI.FABRIK Infrastructure, and provides the technological framework for the first prototype for AI-supported production. The prototype will enable KI.FABRIK to manufacture various mechatronic products using fully modular, reconfigurable, highly automated, and integrated AI technologies. The KI.FABRIK R&D project is divided into four sub-projects, each sub-project envisions a scenario of the future of work.
The KI.FABRIK R&D project is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Enegy and the Hightech Agenda Bayern.
